ELF HAUL! - first impressions and review

Sorry but this post is picture heavy! And long, but stick with it it will be worth it in the end =]

I have spent months cruising the ELF Uk website trying to decide what i wanted to buy, i didn't know wether to try the cheeper items or the elf studio products. Well in the end i went for products that i had never used before, i wanted to try something new!

I brought all of these items in their 25% of deal so i saved around £4. they dont have this offer on anymore but they do have 50% of sale items as well as a free shipping weekend this weekend. (elfs offers page)

Now first off delivery - it did take about 4 days from when i ordered my items for them to be dispatched and then another 2 days to arrive. It did say on the website that it would take between 2-7 days (which i thought was a bit of a funny time scale) but anyway, it didn't take too long but i would have liked it to be quicker.

When i first opened the box this is the view that greeted me. I was a little disappointed  Everything was covered in what looked like dust, i thought that they must have been kept in a dirty factory which concerned me to be honest.

The first item i got out was the elf studio stipple brush, this brush was £3.75.

Right i got this brush to use with cream blush and highlighter. I love my mac 187 so much but i use this for my foundation and is too expensive to buy just for cream blushes.

This brush is so soft! it feels lovely the only thing is is that it is not as dense as my mac brush or as i would like it to be, when using it this morning i had to hold the bace of the bristles to make it stiffer.  however this is a great brush and i really do like it! and it is so good for the price too!

Next i decided to try one of the custom compacts as it was in the sale section i chose 4 eye shadows (i thought the blushes would be a bit small if they were the same as eye shadows and lip products in pans just dont float my boat!) anyway the shadows were £1 each and the palette to put them in were also £1.

It was at this point that i discovered what all of the black dust was!!! i was so annoyed but the black eyeshadow called 'dusk' had completely shattered! It had just turned into powder. I tried to clear the loose powder off but it was a goner. this went in the bin. Not great elf. Anyway i wasn't too bothered cos it was only a black and i wouldn't have used it much anyway. But the other colours i loved!! A navy blue called Navy, a slightly gold sandy brown called driftwood and a dark redy brown called Aubergine.

Next is the eyelid primer in pearl. this was £1.50.
Fist impressions on this product are not good, first off it smells really bad! well in the tube it does but once i swatched it on my hand and it dried it was fine. Secondly this is a little lumpy, their are bits of lumps in it. It also has a shimmer to it, now this isn't really a bad thing but i dont know, i think i will have to give this product a good try before i tell you what i truly think.

Next i got 2 all over cover sticks, one in spotlight and one in persimmon. as well as a shimmering facial whip in lilac petal.

Each of these products were £1.50 each and i had never tried anything like them before. All of them say that they can be used on the eyes cheeks or lips. Im not quite sure i would use them on my eyes tho, or maybe not even my lips.

I am going to do a full post about these so come back for that!

This next product is the studio matte lip colour in tea rose and was £3.70.

Ok so while i was watching a elf haul on youtube (sorry i cant remember who it was by) i saw that they got this and was wearing it during the video and i fell in love. And not i have it i am not disappointed  its amazing, the colour and feel is so nice! Its so moisturising on your lips and lasts ages!  Out of all that i got this is my favourite product by far! I really recommend it! I will defiantly be getting it in more colours.

The final product i got was the Corrective concealer in Neutralise and conceal.

I have never tried one of these corrective concealers before. Now at first look i think that the beige consealers are too dark for my skin but it is the two middle consealers which were what i wanted to try. The green is to reduce redness and the pink is to get rid of yellow tones.

I have never used a product like this before and i am yet to use this so i will get back to you if it is good!

Anyway that is all i got from elf, overall i am pleased with what i got but a little disappointed by the eye shadow! oh well, you can email me at rutterland@gmail.com or comment down below!
